All documents that obligate Drexel University or the Drexel University College of
Medicine personnel, facilities, intellectual property, or other resources require
an authorized University signature. The signature assures that appropriate policies,
procedures, legal requirements and risks have been addressed.
The Office of Research Compliance and Administration is the designated signatory
for all sponsored agreements, professional services agreements where the University
is the contractor, material transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements and
other collaborative agreements.
The Principal Investigator may be asked to sign a "read and understood" clause to
indicate they understood the terms and conditions of the agreement and approve the
scope of work. Under no circumstances are faculty or other university administrative
officials authorized to sign and accept externally sponsored awards or agreements
that obligate University resources as described above.
